Sophie 8th November 2020

Dear Dad On the 10th of October, for the last time, you closed your eyes, Today, with sadness, love and fond memories, we say our final goodbyes. You were a genuine character and a joker at heart, You’d laugh at silly things and anything to do with a fart! You were really into rugby and motor sport, And you’d help any of us without a moments thought. Thank you for my memories of holidays and fun, Whether it was skiing in the snow or exploring in the sun. We had great laughs together... me and you, Rocking out in the car and singing along too. It’s from you I got my DIY skills and common sense, I always knew where I stood with you.... you didn’t sit on the fence. Oh Dad... I’ll never forget our time together, I’ve gained knowledge and memories that I’ll cherish forever! Bacardi and coke was your tipple of choice, even though, most alcohol could pass, So please everyone, when you get home, think of my incredible Dad and raise a glass! I know what you’d say, “don’t cry, don’t be sad”, I’ll try my very best, but, I’ll miss you so much Dad! You weren’t often one for cuddles or openly saying “I love you”, But I love you so much and I know you love me too. Now you are at peace, you can live in spirit through Mum and I, For when you’re here in our hearts... it’s never really goodbye!
